The SS/17 catwalks were full of drop dead gorgeous eye looks this winter, with bold, playful and creative styles making a huge impact on runways. We may be descending into the chilly depths of winter, but getting ahead and adopting spring’s freshest make up trends will help you beat the November blues and ensure your make up game is seriously in vogue. Here’s how to get ahead of the curve and wear them now…
1. Pretty in pastel
Lavender, sky blue, pale pink – candy coloured eyes were all over the catwalks at this winter’s fashion weeks – especially at Marc Jacobs. A high pigment splash of pastel colour on the upper and lower lid, combined with a “no eyeliner”, spiked lash look will ensure your peepers are fashionably pretty.
2. Bleached brows
Gucci took the past few season’s trend for strong brows in a whole new direction on SS17 catwalks, showcasing thick, bleached eyebrows. This look is a little extreme for everyday wear, but a quick coat of concealer, brushed through with a spoolie – perhaps with a dusting of pastel shadow – will help you create an impactful evening look.
3. “No make up”
Very few of us are fortunate enough to be fully flawless under out makeup, but this trend gives the appearance of a bare face, while perfecting our look with a few little tweaks. Clear, lengthening mascara, and natural-hued shadows, with no hard eyeliner will help you get the look.
4. Perfect cat eyes
This enduring look got a reboot at LFW, with precision painted winged liner now extending to the inner eye and along the lower lid. A strong look which takes some concentration to create, invest in a great eyeliner pen for a spot on evening style.
